Taylor Murdock, an 8th grader at Rison Middle School, was named February student of the month for grades 7-9. Taylor is the daughter of Nick and Melissa Murdock. She is the granddaughter of Mark and Johnny Radcliff, the late Olen and Esther Murdock, and Eddie Rogers. She has two siblings, Emily and Mark. Her honors and activities include Junior Beta, hunting, fishing and reading.

RISON - Last year's decision to move the Cleveland County JAKES Day event to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds in Rison turned out to be a wise one as yet another record-breaking crowd was on hand Saturday to learn about the outdoors.

Rison Middle School was named January student of the month for grades 7-9. He is the son of Robert and Kelsey Lephiew, and Tony and Marcie Howard. He is the grandson of Wade and Sherra Veorster, Mike and Kim Blann, Roger and Ruth Lephiew, Shirley and Henry Veorster, Perry and Vicki Taylor and Danny Ray Howard. He has eight siblings, Knox, Brynn, Jack, Lily, Bella, Pennlee, Trent and Brock. His activities and honors include baseball, hunting, fishing, going to church and spending time with family.
