Wildcats Answer Trojan Rally, Beat Parkers Chapel 18-8

RISON - After seeing a fiverun lead evaporate with a sevenrun fourth inning by the Parkers Chapel Trojans, the Rison Wildcats answered with eight runs in the bottom of the frame before going on to invoke the 10-run rule with an 18-8 victory in six innings Tuesday at Wildcat Field.It was the third straight 8-2A conference win for the 'Cats as they climbed to 5-4 in league action to draw even with Parkers Chapel for third place in the conference standings. Rison ended up splitting its series with PC this season but will own the tie-breaker over the Trojans by virtue of margin of victory. Parker Chapel won the first encounter by three runs on March 13, 7-4. After starting the season with five straight losses, Rison is now 7-8 overall having won five of its last six games.The Wildcats had a great start against the Trojans, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first.Lawson Kidd, Matthew Howard and Brock Southerland had three consecutive singles to start the frame with Southerland knocking in a run.A hit batter then loaded the bases, and Owen Morrison lined to center to drive in two more runs. James Jacobs' ground out brought another run home to make it 4-0.The Trojans had an RBI single in the second to make it 4-1 before a double by Ayden Laws and a single by Kidd in the bottom of the third plated two more runs to give Rison a 6-1 lead.Parkers Chapel then capitalized on some free bases in the top of the fourth. Six of the first seven batters to the plate drew walks resulting in three runs. A fly out added one more score and an RBI single tied it 6-6. Another hit drove in two more runs and the Trojans were suddenly up 8-6.The Wildcats regained control in the bottom of the fourth.Southerland and Canon Cope led off with singles before Morrison walked to load the bases. Laws followed with a sacrifice fly to score one run, and Andrew Couture singled to plate two more, giving the 'Cats a 9-8 lead.After adding another run off an error, Kidd and Howard had back-to-back hits…
