RISON - The Rison Lady Wildcats scored 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to answer nine runs put up by the Parkers Chapel Lady Trojans in the top of the frame as Rison came away with a 15-10 win Tuesday afternoon at Lady Wildcat Field.It was Rison's sixth consecutive win as the Lady 'Cats improved to 3-1 in 8-2A conference play with the league win and 11-4 overall. After Tuesday's action, he Lady Wildcats are in second place in the conference standings behind Woodlawn at 5-0. Should Rison defeat Ouachita on the road today (Wednesday, April 17), the game between the Lady 'Cats and the Lady Bears at 5 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn will determine the 8-2A conference regular season conference championship.Tuesday's battle with Parkers Chapel had huge momentum swings as Rison saw a four-run lead turn into four-run deficit only to come back and capture a five-run victory.The opening frame ended 1-1 with the Lady Trojans scoring on a double and the Lady 'Cats scoring off Carlese Johnson's double in the bottom of the first.Amelia Stewart's RBI single in second gave Rison its first lead. Breanna Taylor then had a one-out single that scored two runs, and Taylor later scored on Johnson's ground out to make it 5-1 Lady Wildcats.After PC's run in the first, Rison pitcher Josey Edwards kept Parkers Chapel scoreless for the next four innings before the Lady Trojans exploded in the top of the sixth.After a strikeout to start the inning, a single followed by three consecutive doubles plated three runs. A sacrifice fly for the second out scored another, a triple added one more and a passed ball allowed another score to cross home.Parkers Chapel then added two more runs off a single and a double before stealing home for one more score to make it 10-5 Lady Trojans.Rison turned the tables in the bottom of the inning.Rhagen Price walked to start it, Layne Potter singled and Edwards drew another walk to load the bases with no outs.
