New Edinburg All School Reunion

NEW EDINBURG ALL-SCHOOL REUNION - Roger McClellan welcomes visitors to the New Edinburg All-School Reunion held this past Saturday, April 27, at the New Edinburg Community Center. More than 150 people were in attendance, with many traveling from ac ross the state as well as out of state to attend. Patricia McClellan with Re-New-ing Edinburg, the community development group that hosted the event, said they believe that Harley Payne was the oldest alum to attend the after graduating from New Edinburg High School in 1954. Payne made the trip from his home in Texas to attend. Also in attendance were some former New Edinburg School staff members, including former Coach Odell Wolfe and former Superintendent Edward Parham. McClellan said this wa s the second time Re-New-ing Edinburg has hosted the All-School Reunion. Held annually since the 1980's, the reunion has traditionally been held in the summer until moving it to the spring this year. McClellan said they had some positive feedback on the new time, and Re-New-ing Edinburg is considering leaving it in the spring next year as well.
