10 YEARS AGO MARCH 19, 2014 Circuit Judge Don Glover on Monday found probable cause to hold a Warren man without bond for capital murder in connection with the Friday night shooting death at Monticello of a Cleveland County woman. Jonathan Woods, 30, of Warren, is suspected of firing multiple gunshots at 30-year-old Samantha Poole of Woodlawn before he was wounded by a gunshot, fired by a Drew County deputy. Poole is a 2002 graduate of Woodlawn High School and has a daughter who attends Woodlawn Elementary. The shooting occurred at 7:39 p.m. Friday at the corner of North Hyatt and W. Trotter streets, adjacent to the Save-ALot grocery store in Monticello. It is reported that it began as a domestic incident.Three area fire departments responded to a fire Thursday afternoon which destroyed the home of Allen and Margaret Haymond on South Concord Road, located about a half-mile off Mt. Elba Road south of Rison. A trash fire near the home is being blamed for the blaze. It was estimated that as many as 20 volunteer firefighters assisted in the blaze.The Cleveland County School District joined forces with School Connect to create a district-wide communications application, making information easily accessible through a mobile device. The app is free to use and to administer, and no funds were spent by the CCSD to provide the service for students K-12.Kingsland city councilman Lee Penister will soon be visiting with residents along Bear State Street to see if they may be interested in possibly hooking up their homes to natural gas. This will be the second time that the extension of natural gas service along Bear State has been brought up at a city council meeting. There are an estimated 20 to 25 houses in the area being discussed.It was a St. Patrick's Day surprise Monday, as about a halfinch of snow fell in the Rison area, with temperatures during the day rising only into the upper 30s and lower 40s by the afternoon.Ronald Clayton, Sr., of Rison announced that he is…
