RISON SCHOOL PRAYER WALK

RISON SCHOOL PRAYER WALK - Jacqueline and Jimmy Cummings of the Mt. Carmel lead dozens of people behind George Walker Field of Champions they begin their trek around the school campus for the annual Rison School Prayer Walk held Sunday evening. This was the 13th consecutive year that the prayer walk has been held. Donna Arnold of the Staves community came up with the idea before the start of the 2010-11 school year to hold a community prayer at the school to pray for for the students and staff for the upcoming school year. It has been held on the Sunday before the start of the new school year ever since. Four local pastors - Scott Grubb of Rison Baptist Church, Keden Shrum of the Rison Church of Christ, Ike Mohr of Rison United Methodist Church and Mike Goodwin of Bethel #1 Missionary Baptist Church - participated in this year’s prayer walk. Stops were made in front of the high school, the PRIDE athletic building and Rison Elementary.
