Judith Mays Morris, 77, of Fordyce, passed away following a lengthy illness, on March 13 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock.Judy was born on February 28, 1947 at the Emery Home in Richton, Mississippi. She was proudly adopted by her parents, Robert H. and Julia May Mays, who brought her home to Fordyce.She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, and a member of the Mary Mays Circle, which her step-grandmother had founded over 50 years ago. She was talented at decorating and serving for special occasions.She was employed by First Step of Fordyce at the grand opening in 1997, and became co-director of operations as the school expanded local services, retiring in 2014 after 17 years of service.Judy was always an avid Redbug fan. She especially gloried in her son's achievements as his Redbug teams won two consecutive state football championships in 1990 and 1991. She loved following her grandsons to all their ballgames for as long as she was physically able.She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, John Robert Mays, and a special friend, Pam Bland of Hot Springs.She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Jerry Morris of Fordyce, her son Marty Morris, daughter-in-law Andy Morris, and twin grandsons Hudson and Mason Morris, all of Sheridan.Judy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother (Ju Ju to the twins) and will be sorely missed by them and many others, especially by her dear friends Mary Cathey of Thornton and Linda Holmes of Fordyce.Her ashes will be buried privately at Garner Cemetery.Arrangements are by Benton Funeral home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net
