‘Midnight Madness’ Comes To Woodlawn This Wednesday Night

WOODLAWN - The Woodlawn Bears may be the first high school football team in Arkansas to hit the pads in pre-season practice this year.
New Head Coach Tommy Cody said he will be holding a special full-pads “Midnight Madness” practice session just past midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at the Carl Jones Sports Complex.
The special time is set to coincide with the Arkansas Activities Association’s stipulation that teams cannot  begin practing in pads until Thursday, Aug. 5.
“I’ve done that everywhere I’ve been,” Cody said about the Midnight Madness practice session.
It’s just one more thing that Cody is doing this year to bring a little more fun to the football program.
“We’ll put the pads on, turn on the lights and bump into each other for a little while... probably about an hour or so,” Cody said.
