Kathleen Spears, 68, lovingly known as “Duck,” passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

She was bom August 25, 1955, in Washington, D.C.

She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School and grew up attending Olive Street Baptist Church.

Kathy loved her family and enjoyed cooking and baking for them. They will fondly remember the delicious meatloaf, cream com casserole, or the awesome cakes she loved to bake. She loved being outdoors, whether she was fishing or working in the yard or her flower beds. Kathy loved to sew and loved to keep a clean house.

She will be remembered by many of her customers as an employee of the Comer Express Store in Rison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie Ruth and Huley Wooten; a daughter, Rebecca Davis; a son, Brandon Spears; and her life partner, Albert Cames.

Survivors include her daughters, Roxanne Watkins and husband, John, and Katie Cmm; one brother, Curtis Gilliland; one sister, Renee “Tiger” Wooten; seven grandchildren, Casey Wethington, Cody Wethington and wife, Susan, Rhonda Rauch, Chi-Ann Watkins, Dezarae Watkins, Sean Watkins, and Mikayla Watkins; four greatgrandchildren, Landon-Mae Stires, Mason Wethington, Ariel Rauch, and Kiplie Wethington; her “special” daughter, Roni-Sue Spears; special friend who has been with her through thick and thin, Denise Bush; niece, Witnie Gilliland; nephew, James Gilliland and wife, Amy; greatnephews, Cameron and Aiden Gilliland; and a number of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service celebrating her life was held Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Bro. Travis Creekmore officiating.
